This is the first post in who I am. So let me start out by introducing myself. I am April. I am the owner, designer, and artist of Eluna Jewelry Designs.
Today I want to introduce you to my past. I think that is always a good place to start, don't you?
I was born in North Carolina and grew up as the youngest of two girls. As a child, I spent many youthful hours exploring and hiking in the woods and fields that surrounded my childhood home. I was a bit of a tomboy. I think to a point I am still a bit of a tomboy. :)
In my youth I realized that I had a passion for nature. I loved watching the animals that lived in the area.I remember one year that Mom and I spent an entire season putting jars of peanut butter out into a tree in our backyard and the hours we spent watching the squirrels scamper in and out of that jar scooping up the peanut butter. It was very entertaining and endearing to watch those little squirrels.
During my time exploring, I often came across interesting stones that I found myself drawn too. I remember the first time I saw something gold in the stream flickering in the sunlight. I got so excited, grabbed it up, and ran all the way home. You can imagine my disappointment to leave that I grabbed a small piece of pyrite, fools gold. But that experience did not stop my love of stones from growing, in fact I suspect that the experience actually began to fuel that passion.
