I had planned to write a great blog post about my latest endeavor, but sometimes life gets in the way.
A few months ago, I created a stunning necklace of sterling silver, with crystals and pearls. One that I still can not get a decent photograph of :(
But here is a pic anyway for you to see.
Due to the style and size of this necklace, my standard boxes will not work well for presentation. So I had a great idea that I would go buy some boxes from my local craft store. Then I would stain them, add foam, and then line the boxes. Well I worked on the staining last night.
I had these boxes drying so that I could add another coat this afternoon. But when I went to check on their progress this morning, one of my boxes were stuck. It was so stick that when I tried to pry the top off of the box, it splintered.
In a matter of seconds, all the work I did yesterday was gone. Well the good news is that it was only one box I lost. So I plan on continuing and hopefully in a few days, I will have an amazing presentation box for my necklace!
April, the necklace is so pretty. Too bad about the box, I guess you need a little more practice.
ReplyDeleteI'm so bad about boxes and "presentation." I just don't even think about it.
At least I was working on two boxes, and I only lost one. But it may still be a blessing in disguise. Today I found another idea to add to the box. Sliver cloth. Also known as anti-tarnish cloth. I thnk it will make a nice addition to the box.
